Mold is everywhere and can grow on virtually any substance as long as oxygen and moisture are present. Often after you conduct mold testing, a simple mold removal process is often not enough to solve mold problems in your home unless the infected area is small and well contained. It is important to note that many types of mold spores are generally harmless until they settle on a damp area and begin to grow and reproduce into active mold. If you don’t get out in front of the problem, mold can quickly reproduce and spread through the air in your HVAC system to other areas of your house where moisture is present and cause great risk to not only your property but also present a serious health hazard

When you suspect Mold in your home or commercial space in Atlanta Georgia, call the trusted experts at Phoenix One Restoration. Mold, mildew, bacteria, and other pathogens can begin growing in as little as 24 hours and will continue growing throughout your home or commercial space until the remediation process is completed. Our certified technicians are IICRC certified and will be on location and begin assessment and mitigation steps in under one hour guaranteed.

How do I know if I have mold in my home or business?

Not all mold is bad, but not all mold is visible as well so its extremely important to contact certified mold experts if you suspect mold or notice elevated levels of humidity or moisture in your home or business. While certain concentrations and genres of mold aren't always dangerous, mold can cause structural damage to your home and negatively impact your health when left undetected.

Mold Remediation VS Mold Removal:

There are many terms to classify the process of mold remediation - often called mold removal, mold abatement, and mold mitigation - which often is understood to mean to get rid of or treat mold problems in your home or business. The difference between these processes is addressing core root of the problem, eliminating mold. Often the mold removal process is ineffective because it doesn't involve identifying and rectifying the source cause of the mold so that the mold does not come back.

It's important to note that no federal limits have been set by the EPA or other agencies for standards or Threshold Limit Values (TLVs) for airborne concentrations of mold, or mold spores.

Mold Removal

A simple mold removal process is never enough to solve mold problems in your home, unless the infected area is too small. However, for larger areas that are significantly affected by mold, a complete mold remediation process needs to be carried out. Molds are a natural part of our ecosystem and cannot be eliminated completely, the key is to control their growth. For example, when there is a leak in your roof or in your plumbing pipes and you’re not able to address it immediately – the resultant moisture provides an ideal environment for the growth of active molds. In this situation, you will require the services of a professional mold remediation company like Phoenix One Restoration who can provide you with comprehensive and guaranteed solutions.

Phoenix One Restoration's Mold Remediation System consists of several botanical based, EPA registered, antimicrobial products proven to kill 99.9% of mold in 15 minutes. We use Bioesque which is a plant based 100% safe, natural, and chemical free antimicrobial application. Unlike conventional unbound antimicrobials, Bisque does not migrate, volatilize or otherwise leave the surface to which it has been applied. We are proud to use only non-toxic, plant-based, odorless antimicrobials that will continue to subdue mold growth on the applied surfaces long after application to keep you, your family, and your business safe.

Source Identification

Our IICRC certified technicians use non-invasive testing and observation to pinpoint the water source that is causing your mold infestation. Phoenix One Restoration uses a combination of thermography and moisture meter readings to measure microbial growth levels that you have on your property. Quickly identifying the source of your water damage or mold infestation is extremely important because as soon as mold develops it becomes Category 3, or black water, which is the most hazardous level of water damage for you and your family. Containment

One of the biggest concerns when mold is present is the dissemination of molds in air. Microscopic mold spores will not grow if moisture is not present. The act of removing or disturbing them on surfaces or in air tends to distribute large quantities of mold spores into the air. As a result, this can be extremely hazardous and unhealthy for those around the affected area. Containment helps to control the spread of the spores to unaffected areas by controlling airflow within your residence or commercial structure. Phoenix One Restoration utilizes polyethylene sheeting to create containment by forming walls, floors and ceilings around an infested space using commercial grade duct tape and negative pressure with HEPA filtered fans and air scrubbers. This method omits any possible mold contamination which could occur without proper protection during remediation activity. Using this procedure minimizes the migration of insects, rodents, dust and other pollutants into an unaffected area during remediation activity, thus preventing cross contamination. Our professional techs are highly trained in proper application procedures required by the IICRC (Institute Of Inspection Cleaning And Restoration Certification) guidelines using specific materials set forth in these guidelines.

Air Filtration & Drying

During the mold removal process, spores can be disturbed and become airborne. Running a combination of our air scrubbers and negative air machines with high efficiency particulate air (HEPA) filters continuously throughout the project ensures that all mold spores, dust, microbial volatile organic compounds (MVOCs), and other airborne debris are removed from the affected area. We also work to reduce odors by absorbing organic vapors through carbon filters. The combination of our scrubbers and containment chamber we install around the work site stop any possible spread of mold to unaffected areas.

This can involve removing drywall, insulation, wood trim, carpet and other flooring, and even your furniture. We abide by strict S520 guidelines set by the IICRC to ensure your space is meticulously cleaned so it can be restored to its pre-loss condition and your family or colleagues will have peace of mind when returning.
